Lydia K
Tattooer and visual artist
After graduating from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in 2001, I moved to Toronto to pursue a career in textile art and fashion. I switched gears in 2007 to tattooing and have been working professionally in the trade ever since. On the side I write pysanky (Ukrainian easter eggs), make ceramics, stitch embroidery and quilts, paint, draw, collage, weave, knit, and make my own clothing.
In October 2023 I closed my Galiano Island tattoo studio to open Mudlark Pottery, a community ceramics studio offering classes and memberships. Please visit mudlarkgaliano.com for more information. I will continue to tattoo part time at Pacific Rose in Vancouver but will not take on any custom work, tattooing only my own artwork from now on. I will try to add new designs to the “available designs” page of this site when I can.
A selection of my ceramics, pysanky, embroidery and collage can be purchased in the shop section of this site.
